This Charweederie venture is new. And this website is brand new – just setting it up January 1st, 2025. One of the Woodfisch’s strong points is definitely not website design. If you are viewing this website in early 2025, please understand that it should evolve rapidly in a good way. Layout, content, composition – all rudimentary at this point.
Another consideration……. Each of these charweederie boards and charweederie boxes are prototypes. Trying to get the feel for the build processes. Prototypes are all about making mistakes. And I have made plenty of them. Getting to the point of flawless execution is challenging. Matter of fact I chuckle when I think about them - “why the flippin ding dong did I do that?” Well, it’s a mistake – no reason for it. When the cursing ends I file it away for one of those actions never to be repeated.

Five coats of a hand rubbed linseed oil/beeswax mix.
Mistake: Misalignment of the tool recesses. There is an imaginary arc from the tip to the lip. Each tool recess should have been perpendicular to the tangent of that arc. Poor layout on my part.

Mistake: Routing too deep - domino connectors exposed. Epoxy needed to fill in the gaps.

Mistake: Piece not securely clamped to workbench when routing. Caused the piece to shift and route outside the boundary. Resulted in a distorted pinch tray.
